Journal "Discourse and Writing / Rédactologie "

The academic journal Discourse & Writing / Rédactologie is a Canadian journal that began publication in 1984 under the name Technostyle. In 2024, it celebrated its 40th anniversary :) and is expanding its range of interests.

The journal publishes articles on:

 

  • Writing Studies, defined as “an interdisciplinary field of research that studies the processes and knowledge involved in the production of professional writing and its suitability for its intended audience” (Bertrand Labasse, 2001)
  • Prompt-writing, defined as “the set of writing techniques aimed at the precise formulation of requests sent to an artificial intelligence system, in particular a large linguistic model, in order to improve its functioning or effectively exploit its capabilities to obtain more relevant results” (Office Québécois de la Langue française).
  • Pedagogy of writing
  • Critiques or reinterpretations of theories that analyse writing, such as (but not limited to) discourse analysis, textual analysis, new rhetoric, academic skills, activity theory, socio-cognitive theories
  • Research methodology in the field of writing and discourse, describing and proposing new approaches or guidelines for data analysis
  • Analysis of academic, public and political discourse surrounding the theme of writing and writing pedagogy


Long and short articles are accepted both in English and French
