SIMPLE !!!
We are happy to announce this new publication from the Laboratory on Writing and Translation Studies: the first of two publications centered on linguistic #simplicity and #simplification.
Simplicity and simplification played an important role in the early stages of the #plainlanguage movement. Then, they were progressively put aside because they were associated with negative notions (trivialization, etc.).
However, anyone who writes and translates knows that simplicity is something VERY difficult to achieve - and yet it can make all the #difference!
Simplicity can convey a message that is as powerful as it is concise.
This volume is the first, to our knowledge, to be completely dedicated to exploring the relationship between translation and simplification.
Thanks to all the authors Véronique Béghain, Emine Bogenç Demirel, Elena Chiocchetti, Zeynep Görgüler, Manon Hayette, Antonella Nardi, Fabio Regattin, Tiziana Roncoroni, Winibert Segers, Heidi Verplaetse
See you soon with part two.
